Attendance Policy

Attendance Matters! Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Students who attend school consistently are more likely to stay on track academically, earn course credit, and graduate on time.

⏰ School Start & Tardy Time

  • School begins at 7:44 AM.
  • Students are considered tardy at 7:48 AM.
  • Students arriving after 7:48 AM must report to the front office and obtain a late check-in slip before reporting to class.

📚 Attendance for Credit

Students must attend at least 94% of the required school days each semester to earn course credit.

Absences should be verified through the front office with appropriate documentation. While parent notes allow students to make up missed assignments, they do not excuse absences for attendance purposes.

⚠️ Important Reminders

  • Early checkouts count against attendance.
  • Skipping class is considered an attendance violation and may result in disciplinary consequences.
  • Students who accumulate five unexcused absences or five unexcused tardies in a semester may be considered habitually absent or tardy and may be referred for additional intervention and support.

🤝 Let's Work Together

Parents and students are encouraged to monitor attendance closely and communicate with the school regarding absences. Together, we can ensure every student remains on the path to academic success.

Remember:

Every class. Every period. Every day counts. Consistent attendance is essential for academic achievement, graduation, and future success.

Attendance Recovery

Stay on Track. Finish Strong.

Attendance Recovery provides students with an opportunity to recover attendance hours that may place course credit at risk due to excessive absences. The program is designed to help students remain eligible to earn credit while reinforcing the importance of regular school attendance.

Students who exceed allowable absences may be assigned Attendance Recovery hours and must successfully complete all requirements to remain in good standing. Attendance Recovery may include participation in approved academic activities outside of the regular school day.

💵 Program Costs

  • $20 per course
  • Maximum cost of $80 per semester

📋 Session Information

  • Fall Attendance Recovery is available for Juniors and Seniors only.
  • Summer Attendance Recovery is available for all grade levels.
  • Juniors with 15 or more class skips are not eligible to participate in the Fall Attendance Recovery session.

⚠️ Important Reminders

  • Attendance Recovery does not excuse absences.
  • Students remain responsible for completing all missed assignments and coursework.
  • Failure to complete required Attendance Recovery hours may result in the loss of course credit.
  • Participation requirements and eligibility are determined according to school and district guidelines.

🎓 Stay Present. Create Your Future.

Students and families are encouraged to monitor attendance regularly and address attendance concerns early to avoid jeopardizing course credit, promotion, and graduation progress.
